DIG overhauls S&S machines on-site
DIG Corrugated Machinery recently undertook on-site overhauls of an S&S 701 for Smurfit Espana, and an S&S 707 and ZLC for Smurfit Italia.
The Spanish project also involved the installation of an additional refurbished print unit, increasing the number of print units from 2 to 3. The overhaul and additional print unit now allows the plant to produce higher quality and higher value three colour work.
Both projects were led by Peter Mulligan, a senior engineer at DIG Corrugated with over 25 years experience with S&S machines. In Spain, over a period of 4 days, which included a weekend in order to minimise production downtime, Peter led a team to overhaul the machine and install the additional print unit. For the Italian project, Peter and his team were on site for 3 weeks.
Both plants were highly complementary of the work undertaken by DIG. The Spanish plant wrote "I would like to thank DIG for the excellent work they did during the setting up of the third colour on the S&S 701 FFG, and for successfully bringing out a high quality printer in the agreed period of time."
The Italian plant said "The work was really impressive. It is a true case of best practice in the Corrugating Industry."
