What is the Pacesetter

The world's most popular set-up control system for converting machines

The Pacesetter is a rugged, easy to use, open architecture, state-of-the-art set-up control system designed specifically for ANY Flexo folder gluer, printer slotter, or rotary die cutter. IMC offers three models of the Pacesetter, each designed to custom match the system to the needs of the individual machine and minimise the system costs. The Pacesetter 63 is designed to control the latest high graphic machines with many set-up axes.
The intermediate sized Pacesetter 39 is intended for machines with up to 39 axes of control. The Mini-Pacesetter is designed for simpler machines with fewer controllable axes.

Why Pacesetter

Pacesetter has become the "de-facto standard" offered by many machinery suppliers world-wide, such as United, Langston, TCY and J&L.

Common User Interface and Spare parts - The Pacesetter can be specified on any new finishing equipment or retrofitted to any machine with motorised adjustments. If you make the Pacesetter the only system in your plant, you can have a common link between your management system and each of your converting machines. With declining skill levels and frequent turnover, you don't have to worry about which employees are trained on which system. Every Pacesetter controlled machine will be familiar to every employee.

Open Architecture Industrial Computer - A rugged cousin of the standard IBM compatible PC.

Networking Capability - and control of the entire finishing line rather than simply the core and converting machine (can include pre-feeders, stackers and palletisers).

Low Cost Upgrades to Some Existing Control Systems - Pacesetter component upgrades can breathe new life into obsolete or broken systems. At present, upgrades are available for the Langston Saturn LMC controls, and the Martin MP1 and MP2 controls.

Pacesetter benefits

Fast "One Box" Set-up The Pacesetter sets-up all axes in the shortest possible time for any given machine - usually in less than two minutes.

Ease of Use - A typical operator can enter orders and make set-ups after one hour's training.

High Return on Investment - payback periods as short as 8 months have been experienced by customers.

Open Architecture Design - Because the computer at the heart of the Pacesetter is an industrial version of the world's most commonly used microcomputer, the system won't soon become obsolete. The Pacesetter can take advantage of both hardware and software upgrades to keep it always up to date.

Automatic Press Re-timing - With the Pacesetter you don't have to worry about your press being "out of time". Simply close the machine and let the computer take care of the register timing.

Remembered Positions - Setting print registrations is difficult, particularly on muti-colour jobs. The Pacesetter's "Saved Positions" feature make it faster and easy. Once the machine is making good boxes, the computer remembers all positions so that the job will set-up the same way the next time it is called up. This feature is a proven money saver in plants using pre-mounted printing plates.

Large Job Memory - The Pacesetter has an order memory of 30,000 jobs.
